Suspect in egg and flour attack just a stupid boy, says his stepmother

The stepmother of a teenager arrested after a vulnerable woman was covered with flour and eggs has said that he is “just a stupid boy”.

The teenagers have been denounced by the public after the woman, 49, was left cowering on a park bench in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk on Friday. She was further humiliated when the teenagers mocked her by posing for a photo.

The image has been widely shared and has prompted concerns over vigilantism after a comedian with thousands of followers called on Facebook for them to be “hunted down”.

Four teenagers, two aged 17 and two aged 15, have been arrested and released on bail pending further inquiries. The stepmother of one of them told Mail Online: “He got caught up…
